My name is Yvonne A Jones and I’m married with three grown daughters.
In March 2004 my mother died at the age of 91, just 4 months before her 92nd birthday and within less than a week of displaying symptoms that something was wrong. She had been diagnosed with diabetes since the 1980′s, always took her medication, but never displayed any of the usual critical signs. She was in my care for the last 10 years of her life and I still did not realize how serious diabetes was until the day she died. It was only then that I started reading everything I could get my hands on and doing research that I realized what a deadly disease diabetes, and in this case diabetes 2, is.
Still grieving my mother’s death I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes in 2005. I knew that with my history I needed to take action immediately to prevent this diagnosis from escalating to diabetes 2. I immediately visited the library and online sources for information.
One of the best resources I stumbled upon was The Diabetes Report at http://saygoodbyetodiabetes.com which has been a tremendous help to me in outlining a more natural approach to the treatment of diabetes including recommendations for diet and types of exercise.
